Posted Apr 05, 2024 by Garbett Homes

Nobody lives in a vacuum insulated from their surroundings, neighbors, and environment. Nor should you want to. We build up communities to support and strengthen each other to create a stronger whole. It’s just part of human nature. So when you’re on the lookout for your new Utah home, it’s only natural that you should consider the greater community you’ll be part of. One way, we at Garbett Homes like to help you out with that search is by letting you know about the public schools that will serve our homebuyers in any given community and the communities around you. Today, we’re talking about the public schools that serve those who will live at Waterstone. If you’re curious about how these institutions help build community, please read on.

Liberty Elementary
Only a four minute drive by car and within decently reasonable walking distance, Liberty Elementary lays a good foundation for those starting their educational journey. This school is highly invested in building up its surrounding community not only through education options, but making sure that the families it serves are aware of resources in place to help them succeed. Whether it’s by mapping out safe walking routes or offering a choice between Half-Day and Full Day Kindergarten. Liberty Elementary seeks to ensure their students are safe, educated, and that the community stays strong. Instilling resilience, independence, and good citizenship in their pupils from a young age.

Hillcrest Junior High
Serving students from the 7th Grade until the 9th grade, Hillcrest Junior High is the next stepping stone for those living at Waterstone. One of the ways this school stands out from other junior high schools in the valley is the level of care it takes in trying to prepare students for the shift between elementary school and middle school. When you really stop to think about it, the change in how elementary education and secondary education operate can be quite a significant culture shock. By taking the time to prepare students for this change and helping them adapt to it, Hillcrest Junior High puts in the work to set up engaged students and families up for success. This school also offers quite a few options when it comes to course work, allowing students the opportunity to explore more of whatever academic preferences they wish. From trade-oriented courses to STEM and AP courses, students of Hillcrest Junior High will be able to gain better understanding of who they are, and what they are talented at.

Murray High School

One of the great prides of Murray City, Murray High School strives to build excellent students in multiple areas of life. Whether it is through academics, athletics, the arts, or trades, there are opportunities in all fields. Concurrent enrollment exists not only for the collegiately minded student, but also for those looking for vocational certifications. AP Classes also offer opportunities to further reduce the high cost of a college education for the academically inclined. A diverse student body also ensures that students will see multiple viewpoints and lifestyles. Helping them be more well-rounded over all citizens. And lighting a drive and desire to build better communities for the future.

Murray city is one of the more interesting places in the Salt Lake Valley when it comes to building community. Their highly local focus distinguishes it from neighboring cities. Setting your neighbors and family up for success if they are willing to take it. Rest assured you can feel good about choosing to live in Waterstone.
