As Utah’s greenest locally owned home builder, we at Garbett Homes do our best to continually set new standards in green home building practices for the Salt Lake Valley and beyond. Leading the way to build homes that are better for your health, wallet, and the place we all call home. In that spirit of leadership, we at Garbett Homes are continually looking for new ways that will allow us to build even greener homes. Which is why we are proud to say that our 2024 started with the opening of two new solar standard communities. Azure Place and Axis. Officially kicking off the next step in our green home building journey. Why Solar Standard Communities?
Solar standard isn’t just us innovating for the sake of innovation. It is a key piece of our transition to building all-electric zero emissions communities. As well as a statement of our commitment to helping build the best possible future for the state of Utah. In current solar standard communities our homebuyers will be able to enjoy lower energy bills by drawing on electricity generated by their solar panels to help power major appliances throughout the day. Lowering demand on the overall electrical grid and decreasing the consumption of non-renewable resources like coal and natural gas. We estimate that homeowners in Azure Place and Axis will be able to have up to 20% of their monthly electrical consumption come from solar panels with the standard array. On top of the already significant energy bill savings a Zero Energy Ready Home gives them.

Where Are These Solar Standard Communities?
Located in Downtown Salt Lake City, Azure Place opened on February 24th, 2024. Starting in the $480s and consisting of 37 townhomes this community is great for those that are partial to city living. Remote workers interested in this community will especially enjoy that their solar panels will reduce some of the higher energy costs that come with working from home. Although they aren't the only ones that can benefit from this amazing feature.

Axis,
located in Millcreek, Utah, became our next Solar Standard community on March 9
th, 2024. Starting in the $600s the 24 townhomes that make up this community are sure to be strong additions to this new city on the east bench. Equal closeness to Salt Lake City and several of Utah’s outdoor recreation opportunities, Axis is perfect for a variety of lifestyles. While the addition of solar power will create savings that will help you maximize whatever flavor of fun you enjoy!
