SCOTTSDALE-On September 20th during the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance’s High Performance Building Summit the US Department of Energy hosted its 2022 Housing Innovation Awards. These awards are the highest honor that builders of Zero Energy Ready Homes can receive and recognize the best green homebuilders in the US. Garbett Homes was awarded with the Grand Prize in the Attached Homes category for homes built in 2021.
This prize was awarded for Garbett Homes’ hard work on our Sterling at Capitol Hill community. Attaining HERS (Home Energy Rating System) scores around 50 for the homes, these townhomes are among the most energy efficient constructed in the United States to date. The US Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home standard is reserved for homes that are built so energy efficient that all or most energy consumption can be offset with a renewable energy source such as solar panels. This is Garbett Homes’ Sixth time winning a Department of Energy’s Housing Innovation Award and their first Grand Prize win. While they are overjoyed at the victory Garbett Homes also feels encouraged to continue their mission to build the most modern, comfortable and energy efficient homes in Utah.
Garbett Homes invites you to see the newest homes that build on this award winning legacy. With communities in Midvale, Murray, West Jordan and Farmington, they are sure you will find a home that fits your lifestyle. They humbly invite you to speak to their new home specialist today.
